The responsibilities include oversight of cultivation, manufacturing, kitchen and extraction operations as well as ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Director of Operations will also work with all disciplines to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Executive team. The Director of Operations must be a proven team leader with the ability to enhance, develop and maximize the talents of their team. Successful candidates will have experience implementing SOP’s for various manufacturing processes; identifying inefficiencies, researching solutions, and driving process improvement initiatives; maximizing value from onsite technical experts; earning respect of staff in order to ensure a positive work environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Be a proactive and engaging leader who will set the tone for his/her organization, and be able to energize, motivate, and develop a top-notch operations team

Prepare schedules and manage operations workflow to maximize resources and minimize bottlenecks.

Align operations with downstream business needs and strategic initiatives.

Track record of developing staff to maximize productivity, ensure team cohesion, and enable internal promotion.

Manage the team while also being a coach and mentor to both enhance and develop the skillsets of those being managed. This will also require performing annual reviews for each staff member.

Solid technical base and critical thinking skills that contribute to the analysis of complex situations • Knowledge of and ability to implement High Performing Work Systems for a self-managing workforce

Develops strategic plans, presenting assumptions and recommending objectives.

Allocating resources, reviewing progress and making mid-course corrections.

Coordinates efforts of various disciplines to meet deadlines and objectives.

Outstanding presentation skills to present ideas to the team in a confident and persuasive manner.

Operate within budget and implement strategic improvements to finish the year well under budget.

Work with Chief Operations Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and ownership to ensure corporate objectives and goals are met.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Four-year degree in related field or equivalent experience.

2-5 years’ experience in Operations Management for a manufacturing business.

Experience leading a team of at least 20 people.

Cannabis related manufacturing experience not necessary but could be a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Quick learner, especially with technical processes.

Ability to plan, persuade and execute production targets within timeframe and budgetary guideline

Good vendor relationship experience.

Knowledge of quality systems (Six-sigma certification a plus)

Product testing and evaluations skills

Inventory/WIP management skills

Good knowledge of disciplines and cannabis manufacturing process

Problem solver, future thinker, trend setter
Compile data and information to prepare production reports

Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel

Salary: $70,000-$100,000/year
