1) TRIMMER

Job Status: Full-Time

Direct Supervisor: Cultivation Director

Location: Taunton, MA

Schedule: Typical hours: 8:00AM-4:45PM (rotating days)

THE JOB

This role will primarily focus on the day-to-day trimming duties of medical-grade cannabis. Trimming is a continuous, detail-oriented task that requires hard work, passion, and a willingness to learn. Under the supervision of the Cultivation Manager or department leads, the Cultivation Technician will perform manual labor to assist in the upkeep, stocking, and fulfillment of growing cannabis, including, but not limited to; watering, feeding, pruning, cloning, cleaning, and transplanting.The ideal candidate will excel as a team member within a tightly controlled, state-regulated system and timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform tasks related to harvest, trimming, sanitation, decontamination, etc.
  • Buck cannabis from stalks, removal of large fan leaves, and removal/process of wasted material
  • Carefully and efficiently trim at least one pound of dry cannabis by the end of each shift
  • Separate and track cannabis buds, trim, stems, and plant material wasted
  • Tend to the plants and green waste (water, re-pot, train, and move)
  • Harvest (including drying and de-stemming) plant material on schedule
  • Communicate any abnormalities (mold, seeds, pests, etc.) found within the product to a manager or supervisor
  • Sanitize and clean workstations and all equipment; may also include grow/dry rooms
  • Perform regular quality assessments in all growth areas
  • Monitor plants for pests and other threats with a keen eye
  • Label plants and ensure that an accurate inventory is maintained consistently
  • Record and verify accurate data
  • Report any event/condition that may affect plant growth and development
  • Help create a proactive and positive environment
  • Ability to be flexible and work in various sectors of the department as needed and/or requested by their direct supervisor; this may include but is not limited to, helping grow staff with small tasks, cleaning and/or moving supplies and equipment and/or helping the packaging department or working at other locations as needed

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to multitask and pivot quickly
  • Able to demonstrate ownership, accountability, initiative, and quality of work
  • Skilled in analyzing potential problems with a plant or the product being processed
  • Able to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure, methods, and techniques

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience with large scale, indoor grow operation (preferred)
  • Cannabis trimming experience (preferred)
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check as mandated by the Cannabis Control Commission

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to lift 65 pounds and be able to maneuver between growing tables that are 24 inches apart and repeatedly carry 15-20 pounds the length of warehouse/greenhouse
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time, and kneel, stoop, bend, twist, in tight areas
  • Able to work in hot, humid environments for extended periods of time with exposure to dust, allergens, and water
  • Repetitive use of hands for all functions
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts with varied hours/day, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
