Cannabis company headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a CFO to provide leadership in key areas of finance including directing all areas of the company’s financial management.

Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be accountable for the financial, and risk management operations of the company, including the development of a financial and operational cash flow strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide oversight and general control and reporting including direct management of software systems, existing accounting methods, funds, develop and direct financial forecasting and high-level forecasting for all business units and assets.
All aspects of finance will be managed by the CFO. This includes all financial reporting developed by the CEO and CFO, and continual management and control of cash flow, profit reporting, tax planning and global corporate forecasting.
Have a thorough understanding of the company’s risk profile. Be aware of and in control of all record keeping and reporting that is required by law. Develop and subsequently own an effective and brief risk management and mitigation plan for the Company.
Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
Construct and monitor reliable control systems
Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, while maintaining appropriate insurance coverage
Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
Ability and knowledge to recommend and review software systems, and take ownership of all software in use, to ensure maximum integration, and minimum duplicity.
Understanding of required federal filings and the capacity to communicate and inform transparently with both staff and tax authorities.
Comply with applicable policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
Maintain an atmosphere of trust and open communication
Prepare quarterly Board Pack for consolidated Reporting for all business units, and consolidated balance sheet
Design and implement the financial strategy of the Company and its subsidiaries
Assist in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
Manage the capital request and budgeting processes, develop a lead role in fact finding and forecasting through each capital project.
Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction
Lead financial reporting and control, including financial statements and management of the accounting firm
Participate in the financing of initiatives and projects, take a lead role and direct team through this process.
Manage direct reports for each business unit, and multiple team members on specific initiatives
Manage investor relations
Manage the accounting, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury departments
Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations
Travel required (minimal)

8 10 years in Financial Management experience, with continually increasing responsibilities, inside a multi-group North American organization of minimum $50M.
Bachelors degree is a must with a Masters being an asset; CFA or CPA designation a plus
Outstanding project finance experience combined with strong financial management, legal and accounting experience and skills.
Industry experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Salary $140,000 – $180,000
